President & CEO
Over the last 20 years, Donna Gallup has worked extensively with special needs populations: homeless, adults with mental illness, survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault, and adults with chronic health conditions and addictions. From 2004 to 2007, she served as Director of Housing and Community Development in New Jersey for Advance Housing Inc. and in 2007 became non-profit housing developer, SEED Corp’s Executive Director. In 2010 Donna became CEO of LAMP Community, an agency serving the homeless on Skid Row and throughout LA County. Since joining American Family Housing as CEO and President in 2014, she has established visionary new directions for AFH while maintaining its core values. Ms. Gallup received the 2013 ACLU Bill of Rights Award and Orange County’s 100 Most Influential People Award in 2015 and 2016. Donna Gallup holds a B.S. in Education and Social Policy from Northwestern University and a Master’s Degree in Social Work from NYU. She is currently enrolled in USC’s Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) Organizational Change and Leadership program.
Senior Director of Residential Services
Since 2003 Carolina Cortazar has dedicated her life to the service of families and individuals suffering from poverty. As a social worker in a nursing home she assisted the elderly before joining the non-profit, LAMP Community in 2008. With LAMP, Carolina served as that organization’s Program Manager and Director of Supportive Housing. In 2014 she joined the team at American Family Housing as our Senior Director of Residential Services. Carolina’s strong analytical and record keeping skills, program development experience and dedication to housing the homeless have made her an invaluable member of our leadership team. She holds an Associate of Arts Degree in Psychology and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Human Services.
Senior Director of External Relations
Steve Harding began his work with American Family Housing after retiring as a Captain with the Orange County Sheriff’s Department in 2008. With almost 40 years of public service experience, his understanding of our community’s need for programs to support at-risk populations have brought new perspectives to our organization. With AFH, he has served as a job developer, case manager, volunteer coordinator and now as the Senior Director of External Relations. Steve holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management and is a graduate of California’s Law Enforcement Command College for Organizational Leadership.
Chief Development Officer
Steven Forry has been in the field of development for over 27 years, beginning with Scripps, La Jolla and extending through tenures at Sharp HealthCare, UC San Diego and St. Joseph Health. His background includes consulting with Jerold Panas, Linzy and Partners and teaching development classes at UCI, OneOC and regional conferences for the Association of Fundraising Professionals. As American Family Housing’s Senior Director of Development, Steven’s commitment to serving the less fortunate by raising awareness in the community and generating support for our mission has been remarkable! Steven holds a doctorate in English Literature from Columbia University.
