Southern California’s primary cause of homelessness is a critical shortage of available housing for low income families and individuals. While American Family Housing owns 53 properties with 282 units of low cost housing, this portfolio only makes a small dent in our community’s needs. Our most recent project is Potter’s Lane. This first-in-the-nation permanent supportive housing facility was constructed using 54 steel shipping containers to create 16 beautiful studio apartments and community areas. And the best part is, it was completed in just 6 month’s time! Over the next five years AFH intends to acquire additional properties and expand their property developments through the replication of the Potter’s Lane model by creating 80 new units of permanent supportive housing for homeless veterans and low-income adults in Orange County and Los Angeles County. To learn more about Potter’s Lane and to find out how you can help with our next projects.
