Director

Steve Renahan joined the AFH board in 2018. He is a 43-year resident of Southern California. Steve has worked in the affordable housing field for 38 years, including directing policy, research, and advocacy on homeless issues for Shelter Partnership, Inc. and developing and managing low-income housing subsidy programs for the Housing Authority of the City of Los Angeles. Steve has served since 2012 as the Co-Chair of the Los Angeles Veterans Collaborative Homeless and Housing Working Group at the USC Suzanne Dworak-Peck School of Social Work Center for Innovation and Research on Veterans & Military Families and, since 2007, as a member of the HEARTH, Boston, Board of Visitors. Steve was elected Secretary of the Silver Lake Neighborhood Council, President of the Southern California Chapter of National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials (NAHRO), and Vice President of the National Leased Housing Association. The Southern California Association of Non-Profit Housing (SCANPH) presented Steve a Lifetime Achievement Award in 2004. On Thursday evenings when there is no pandemic or rain, Steve manages and pitches for the Silver Lake Adult Baseball Society softball team.
