About

Stuart Apartments represented a unique opportunity to reposition an aging 10-unit apartment building into supportive housing for Garden Grove’s most vulnerable residents such as those with physical and mental disabilities or experiencing homelessness. When approached by American Family Housing (AFH), the City stepped up with both capital funds and vouchers needed to refurbish the 1950’s building. (Mural painted and designed by Mikala Taylor)

Developed in a first-ever partnership of its kind with the City of Garden Grove, eight of the homes in this community are set aside for extremely low-income households and are supported by mainstream vouchers provided by the Garden Grove Housing Authority. Comprehensive supportive services are delivered by AFH’s highly trained staff.
