Comfortable and aesthetically pleasing, Potter’s Lane is an innovative housing development that addresses the crisis of veteran homelessness. Completed in 2017, it is the first permanent supportive housing development to utilize re-cycled steel shipping containers to provide 16 units of affordable housing, reducing cost and expediting construction.
This sustainable and energy efficient facility is comprised of 15 separate units for veterans, and one unit to accommodate an onsite manager. There are additional meeting rooms for individual and group counseling, veteran liaisons, and employment programs.
Located in unincorporated Orange County, in Midway City, Potter’s Lane is withing walking distance of quality transit, retail, and parks. The project’s amenities include a community room, outdoor lounge area with a vegetable garden and barbecues, and an onsite laundry facility. A solar panel system provides carbon-emission free energy for heating and cooling.
This development provides veterans with a healthy environment that gives them the stability and the support they need to stay on their feet.
