Homes of Steel for the Brave of Heart

Since the opening of Potter’s Lane in early February, American Family Housing has proudly and successfully moved in 13 veterans who were once chronically homeless. These deserving veterans are now being given a second chance at life. Potter’s Lane aims to care for its veterans with supportive amenities, including a community room designed to provide tenants with a space for special programs as well as a casual place to socialize with neighbors and host events such as birthday parties and family gatherings.

The Potter’s Lane grounds are enhanced by beautiful flowering shrubs in addition to a barbecue grill and tables and chairs for outside events. Also within the grounds, is the Veteran’s Memorial Walk comprised of individual name-bearing pavers and a fitness court where residents can exercise.

AFH has hope that other organizations across the nation are encouraged to duplicate this project in an effort to combat the homelessness epidemic. The success of Potter’s Lane could not have been achieved without your constant support and generosity.
